Role Summary/Purpose	We are looking for a Research Engineer within the field of particle technology with a strong focus on laboratory work. This is a one-year temporary position. The role is with the Particle Design section of the BioProcess Media department, BioProcess R&D. The section’s main activities are focused on the design of structured particles for chromatographic separation of biomolecules.
Essential Responsibilities	The main purpose of the role is to develop new and improve existing methods for particle synthesis. The work includes particle synthesis (emulsification), surface modification and primary characterisation of particles. Mostly used techniques for particle synthesis is traditional emulsification techniques, which means that experience from that area will be seen as advantages. Independently plan and accomplish given tasks from Project Manager or Section Manager, to reach given project objectives. Perform experimental work within the area of media design-particle technology and surface chemistry. Independently solve problems of "trouble shooting character" in project work. Document and report results both orally and written To individually or in co-operation with others, whether at own initiative or in compliance with supervisor's instructions, improve old, and develop and/or invent new methods, applications, products, components, accessories, software and the like, which can be patentable. To conduct all tasks within the frameworks of GE Healthcare policies and guidelines. Last day of application: October 4.
Qualifications/Requirements	MSc or equal experience in polymer chemistry/organic chemistry or related area Documented laboratory experience English and Swedish as working languages
