CSD Market Development Specialist (Job Number: 1315581)

Description

Introduction

The CSD Market Development Specialist is responsible for co-ordinating the T2S preparatory projects including the liaison with IT, Systems Development, Regulatory and Legal, and Business delivery resources within the broader BNYM Group.

He/She will be expected to provide advice to all CSD stakeholders on the T2S project and act as a technical resource for the business and as the CSD Participant population builds, to offer advice as to the T2S opportunities through the CSD.

He/she is actively involved with internal BNYM CSD participants in taking advantage of the CSDs connection with T2S in business opportunities such as custody, payment services, collateral management and other related areas.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of the BNYM CSD T2S strategy

• Participate in the development of strategic and tactical approach to the development of CSD to CSD linkages cross a variety of markets

• Produce relevant documentation for Participants and Regulators

• Provide input to BNYM T2S project

• Assist in the advocacy of BNYM CSDs position and interest to the T2S team at ECB

• Participate in the development of the CSD business taking responsibility for the delivery of key initiatives

Business expertise

  • Excellent understanding of current securities processing or capital market practices such as new issues administration and of various security types
  • Experience in working within a market/regulatory project role; market consultancy or product management function
  • Strong familiarity with European Market Regulations such as EMIR, CSDR, MiFID, and associated market change such as T2, T2S, ECB market support/collateral management, regulatory reporting etc
  • Ability to undertake and deliver knowledge transfer, training and coaching of a variety of audiences
  • Strong understanding of operational, market and security type risks
  • Experience of interacting with existing and perspective clients
  • Experience of working with regulators
  • Experience with all Security and Health and Safety policies and procedures operating within the business

Ability to act independently in a newly set up environment, and to react swiftly when confronted to new situations or issues.

Nature & Area of Impact

Ability to work with minimal or remote supervision.

Strong focus on escalation to alert timely and appropriately the CSD Product Manager and other CSD management responsible on significant issues arising in relation to service quality or regulatory risk.

Close experience and technical grasp of the T2S project is an absolute prerequisite to be successful in this role.

Ability to talk knowledgeably and confidently to clients and prospects about the CSD, TS and related topics

Interactions/Interpersonal Skills

Role of intermediary between the CSD entity and key market organizations within established relationship contexts

Strong ability to influence others, is required in this role, where there is no direct staff reporting link and ability to build on existing or develop new internal relationships

The CSD Market Development Specialist will need to permanently develop strong and effective working relationships with all key European T2S teams, and Business partners (in Finance, Audit, HR, Credit, Technology), and Operational Departments of the Bank (functional processing managers) without direct managerial responsibility

Strong ability to build up network within the organization and in both the Participant population and market as a whole is a must for the CSD Market development Manager. The individual should be able to act as, and be seen as, a trusted member of the BNYM Brussels office network.

Good communication skills. The individual needs to be able to convey information effectively, being sensitive to audiences needs, handle interaction confidently at all levels of an organization

Persistent with proven desire to reach the right outcome for the team and the clients likely to have a good sense of humor and stamina.

Relationship builder with a level of confidence in dealing at a variety of levels in an organization,
