| Context The Finance Application Support Team is part of Global Diageo Business Services (GDBS) which is a combination of functional and regional to reflect our stakeholder structures and portfolio of programmes.Finance Systems acts as a primary enabler for these areas by maintaining, improving, and developing new / integrating external reporting solutions on platforms such as• ERP systems (SAP ECC)• Applications for consolidated reporting (SAP Business Objects Financial Consolidation (BFC))• Financial Information Management (FIM)• Oswald (Automated Journal Posting Tool) Web-based tool that connected to SAP through interface,written in PHP, in-house developed tool SAP Data services andOther internal / externally managed environments Purpose of Role
Oswald (Automated Journal Posting Tool) development and Operations:
• Carry out continuous development of Oswald tool according to the approved development agenda
• Act
as a consultant in projects where Oswald is impacted, and be able to
come up with solution options for automation requests by analysing both
source and target systems, ensuring the best business outcome
considering resource requirements.
• Be
able to prepare functional and technical designs related to the Oswald
application, underpinned by project management knowledge.
• Manage
issue resolution process and own the end to end management of the
issue, ensuring that Root Cause Analysis is performed and propose
permanent solution (eg. system enhancement, hardware etc.)
• Assist the knowledge transfer of the 3 built-on modules of Oswald from the current service provider
• Maintain, update and issue of technical/application documentation.
• Ensure that Global Processes are adhered to by maintaining strong internal controls, and support of our business partners.
• To
work within the controls set for CARM purposes, and to review processes
to improve the management of changes that are required.
• Train new starters and provide required support.
Top accountabilities
• Development of solutions according to the specification in the given environment for multiple projects
• Ensuring that Oswald application is available and captures Diageo requirements, especially during closing period
• Providing
a world-class front line support and training to customers (markets and
Central Planning and Reporting Teams) on an ongoing basis
• Active participation in projects where Oswald is impacted or targeted with a consultative mindset
• Being the first point of contact for servers used by Oswald, monitor their performance in cooperation with the application owner
• Be able to come up with solution options for automation requests
• Assist insourcing of support services
Qualifications and experience required
• High degree (preferably computer science/ technical/ finance)
• Minimum
2 years experience at multinational company in either Finance or
Technical / Development areas (ideally Shared Service centre operations)
• Ability to communicate and operate at all levels within the organization - essential
• Proven experience in application development (in any of the following languages - PHP/JSP/ASP) – essential
• Ability to work independently – essential
• MS Office (MS Access, Word, Excel – advanced, PowerPoint, Outlook are essential – MS Project and macro writing are desirable.)
• Proven experience in database programming in SQL – essential
• Project/ Change management experience (knowledge of DDM) - essential
• Proven experience in database programming (Access, Oracle) – desirable
• Fluent business English
• SAP Material Management and Financial Modules - essential
• Experience in (management) reporting tools – essential
• SAP BusinessObjects Financial Consolidation experience is an advantage
• Experience in VB (.NET), JAVA/PHP and Web application authoring – essential
• Transactional SQL knowledge
• Proven experience in database programming (Access, Oracle) – desirable
• SAP / ABAP / Server Side Scripting experience is an advantage
