A new permanent job opportunity has arisen with a Dublin based financial services company for an Investment Specialist. The job of the Investment Specialist is to support asset gathering and retention activities. The candidate will be required to apply an in-depth knowledge of financial markets. The role will bridge Portfolio Management and Business Development and will require working closely together with the relevant Client Portfolio Manager as well as Portfolio Management, Product Research & Development and Sales & Distribution teams to develop the right arguments to support and promote our investment products.

The job of the Investment Specialist is to support asset gathering and retention activities. The candidate will be required to apply an in-depth knowledge of financial markets. The role will bridge Portfolio Management and Business Development and will require working closely together with the relevant Client Portfolio Manager as well as Portfolio Management, Product Research & Development and Sales & Distribution teams to develop the right arguments to support and promote our investment products.
Responsibilities:
- Build the marketing identity and articulate a consistent message around product characteristics and the investment capability under coverage.
- Create investment communications content to support the marketing and distribution of the company’s products – including white papers, fund focus and opinion pieces, presentation material and regular portfolio commentaries.
- Act as the subject matter expert, responding to information requests about investment products under coverage.
- Provide clients and prospects with on-going updates about market views, investment strategy, positioning and performance.
- Drive the client pitch – including providing RFP content and delivering pitch presentations.
- Represent Portfolio Management and products under coverage at client meetings and performance reviews where relevant.
- Experience in a similar role as a Junior Portfolio Manager, Junior Economist, Investment Product Specialist or in Financial Journalism, Product Marketing and Investment Product Management.
- Financial or economic background, preferably supported by a relevant post graduate degree or similar
- Fluent English – additional language is an advantage
- Excellent written and presentation skills
- Team player
- Strong Word, Excel, PowerPoint knowledge is essential
- Knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters, Factset and Datastream
