Utilize instructional design principles to create and update
a broad curriculum of courses for teaching technical and business
skills to customers and GE field service personnel.
Leverage a four tier system of courses from introductory to
expert level instruction through online, webinar, classroom and
laboratory instruction.
Lead the Energy Management Service training review board,
working with operational business leaders globally to define training
requirements and schedule specific training courses to meet those needs.
Coordinate a global matrix team of full-time and part-time
training leaders and trainers to implement the scheduled training
courses.
Develop and execute training programs for basic technical
and business skills such as: Employee Health & Safety (EHS),
engineering drawings, application programming, power system engineering,
customer communication, and field service reporting.
Develop and execute training programs for specific
equipment, such as: Variable speed drives, motors, generators,
switchgear, breakers, transformers and protective devices.
Develop and execute training programs for electrical
systems provided in various industries, such as: Marine and offshore,
metals, material handling, and pulp & paper.
Coordinate with New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to
develop and execute training programs for new products, technologies and
services which are created by the business.
Provide training to a global audience, which is
predominately fluent in English, but does require the use of other major
languages.
Increase the use of technology to enhance courses and lower
instruction cost, including: Web based instruction and laboratory
upgrades.
Improve the effectiveness of training programs to shorten
learning curves for new hires and increase training sales to customers.
Manage the training department budget to provide required
content development and course instruction, while not exceeding spending
limits.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university or a bachelor’s degree related to education.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant industry
(electrical equipment, plant engineering, etc.) with change management
and operational experience
Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience with adult
education, instructional design and implementation of major training
& development programs.
Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required
Fluency in English
Strong student advocate
Ability to work effectively cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization to maximize results for the business
Demonstrated ability to motivate, energize & manage local and remote teams
Strategic capability for overall curriculum development with strong tactical focus to fulfill annual programs
Ability to establish priorities & initiate problem solving techniques and strong issue resolution
Ability to effectively influence global customers &
internal stakeholders, building robust relationships based on trust and
confidence
Strong communication and organization skills
