| IBM Delivery Center Brno is providing services to customers
across all Europe. The 3rd level support Storage Engineer provides
technical support and leadership in complex mission critical
infrastructure environments. He ensures that the services under his
responsibilities are delivered according to Service Level Agreements.
Storage Engineer ensures that components in SAN/NAS Environments are
implemented, maintained, optimized and used effectively. He ensures
compliance with IBM internal technology standards and solutions. Responsibilities: Maintains and monitors SAN&NAS devices Plans, schedules and performs proactive maintenance, including hardware and software upgrades and patch installation Performs Storage system tuning including monitoring, troubleshooting and optimizing performance Proactively oversees resolution of storage service disruptions and implementation of preventative measures Analyzes and solves complex problems of network (operating) system hardware and software components Analyzes impact of SAN&NAS network systems and components for the technical infrastructure and communicates the results with the responsible technical specialists in order to reach the appropriate and effective use of the various technologies Requirements: 2 years experience in managing one or more types of IBM Storage Systems : SVC, DS8000, XIV,DS4000, Storwize V7000, ESS 2 years experience in managing large SAN Fabrics based on Brocade (preferably), Cisco or McData switches 2 years experience in managing one or more types of IBM nSeries / NetApp : Appliance / Gateway At least 2 years Infrastructure experinece Very good understanding of HA, D/R, performance, availability, scalability of SANs and Storage Systems General knowledge of NAS filers Working knowledge of D/R (snapshots, snapmirror, snapvault), performance, availability, scalability of NAS Systems Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written English Analytical problem solving and root cause analysis experience Service oriented mindset and ability to work in a fast changing environment Capacity planning Preferred skills: Experience with other vendors Storage Systems Brocade BCFP ITIL SNIA SCSP Experience with other vendors NAS storage products Mentor (Abilities to create documentations, WINs and guide/handbooks, educating newcomers, etc) Basic architecture abilities Ability to design NAS environment, as one possible solutions, based on customer requirements. Ability to identify current systems which are suitable for migration/transformation into NAS environment and design its infrastructure.
