Job description

As a Senior Sales Engineer, you are IBM's technical consultant to our clients, IBM sales teams and/or IBM Business Partners. You will learn the client's business requirements, technical requirements and/or competitive landscape and apply industry-specific knowledge and experience to bring new business and technology insights to the client.

You will be responsible for providing technical sales support, which may include:

- Collaborating with IBM sales teams to define, design, and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions; delivering Proof of Concept; supporting critical situations; designing solutions; and answering technical questions.

- When engaged for a specific opportunity or project, you will also be responsible for the technical accuracy of your proposed solution. The Senior Sales Engineer works as a member of an integrated sales team in the requirements identification and definition of Customer Experience Management solutions with a specific focus on the successful selling of IBM's Tealeaf solutions.


Responsibilities
- Active engagement with clients and prospects.
- Mapping business and technical solutions across IBM/Tealeaf capabilities and the client environment/business objectives.
- Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, create Business Requirements Documents, and prepare analysis documentation such as use cases.
- Establish strong working relationships with clients as a trusted business advisor.
- Work closely with brand sellers and the client relationship teams to align analytic strategy for clients.

Profile
As a successful candidate you will understand how different components in a web system fit together and affect each other. Furthermore you will have the ability to work in diverse server environments, understanding how to architecturally recommend how Tealeaf should install.

In addition you must be familiar with both Microsoft and UNIX environments and have the ability to work with a prospective customer's IT department to gain trust and establish technical credibility.

Finally you have great interpersonal skills and impressive presentation/communication skills.

Skills
- Formal training in web technology and understanding of applications and code.
- Rich internet application development with JavaScript, AJAX, Flash and Flex is desirable
- Extensive experience in working with web analytics, content management, web search, business intelligence, web-based customer relationship management and/or other web applications.
- Direct experience on web development or web integration projects.
- Start up experience and successfully managing an early stage territory.
- Understanding of web systems (physical, logical, hardware, software, and networking). - Understand how a full range of Tealeaf technology can be integrated to address customer needs.

Though hands-on expertise with every technology is not expected, a business-level understanding and strategic perspective of the impact of predictive analytics in customer environment is imperative.

Required
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • At least 4 years experience in enterprise software pre-sales
  • At least 4 years experience in successful track record with annual quota attainment in the $3.5M range
  • At least 4 years experience in business solution selling and proven track record in selling/presenting to C-level business executives, especially to heads of e-commerce, marketing, finance, and operations
  • English: Fluent

Additional information
