In this role, you will be given the opportunity to either specialise on Power Products &/or Power Systems Design. You will participate in large EPC projects working on electrical packages focusing on engineering, execution & the entire life cycle that an EPC project usually highlights. Alternatively, you will join our development projects contributing your knowledge on designing, testing and qualifying specific subsea electrical components – transferring ideas to commercially available product
Work tasks:
• Participate in early stage technical discussions with customers to support sales and marketing in identifying business cases and screening power system solutions; prepare technical tender/bid documents for Invitation to Tender and participate in contract negotiations (technical section).
• Perform feasibility studies, FEED studies, pre-engineering and project engineering; work towards both suppliers and customers; possibly act as Electrical Lead.
• Participate in design of power system using multiple power system design tools (e.g. EDSA, EMTP, Matlab, etc.) and specify power equipment ratings and requirements.
• Participate in design and test of subsea electrical products using design tools such as ANSYS and ProE with a multi-disciplinary team – mechanical, material, test & assembly, etc.
• Communicate and cooperate with multiple GE entities globally on the technical solutions and developments, e.g., GE Oil&Gas in Italy, GE Power Conversion in France, GE Global Research in Germany, etc.
• M.Sc. or equivalent university degree in Electric Power Engineering, with knowledge of power transmission and distribution, HV/MV equipment and the associated substation automation and control functions.
• 3 years + experience with Electrical Engineering
• English fluent verbal and written.
• Experienced in standard office tools like word, excel, power point etc.
• Experience with Drives, Switchgear, Transformers, HV Electrical Substations, Electrical Connectors
• Experience in the technology aspects of designing, building and testing Subsea Power Products.
• Experience in design and development of complex electromechanical equipment, demonstrating good all round engineering experience.
• Knowledge of Subsea installation, operation, maintenance and repair requirements.
• Basic knowledge of reliability evaluation and calculation.
• Familiar with International Standards like IEC and IEEE will be beneficial.
