The Materials Engineer will form an integral part of the Materials & process Engineering (MPE) Department responsible for supporting subsea system programs, tenders and projects as System Materials Engineer. The Materials Engineer shall provide such support on topics associated with metallurgy, welding, organic coatings, polymeric products such as thermal insulation and seals and/or corrosion assessments as well as cathodic protection (CP) design.
• Participate in FEEDS, ITO (tender) work and represent Materials & Process Engineering in EPC / System Engineering.
• Review of: contract requirements, client specifications, engineering guidelines, design codes, manufacturing standards, specifications
• Develop and maintain Engineering philosophies & practices on Material Selection & Corrosion Protection
• Review of customer requirements and processing procedures for use in the manufacturing of subsea equipment
• Perform gap analysis between client specifications and existing GE Oil & Gas specifications and standard practices
• Customer contact – coordinate technical clarifications and meetings on material selection and fabrication issues as part of bids and project execution
• Arrange handover meeting from ITO with all COE materials lead engineer
• Arrange KO meeting with GE Oil & Gas Lead Materials Engineers
• Prepare Subsea System Material Philosophies for Material selection and Corrosion Protection
• Prepare Material Selection Reports for Subsea System covering all deliveries
• Prepare Cathodic Protection Summary Reports covering all deliveries addressing interfaces (late project activity)
• Review and coordinate Materials related queries between COEs and end Clients.
• Attend HAZID, HAZOP and other meetings as requested by EPC Engineering Manager
• Support EPC/System Engineering Manager and EPC team as required
• We are looking for a senior engineer with minimum 5 years preferably more than 10 years’ experience from Oil & Gas
• MSc or PhD with matching responsibility and job description as above preferably with subsea experience.
• Candidates with experience within other parts of the oil and gas industry can be considered
• Strong analytical skills combined with excellent problem solving skills
• Strong communication - and negotiation skills with ability to cooperate in multidiscipline engineering groups (team player)
• Able to adapt to large complex organization and demanding clients
• Excellent English language skills, both verbally and written
• Proactive and results oriented, self-motivated and ability to work independently and in teams                               Apply to job
