Position Purpose

In the Corporate Affairs & Communications department based in Cologne is an open position as Corporate Affairs Manager (m/f) to fill a maternity leave

The incumbent will support the local Corporate Affairs and Communication function. He/she will report directly to the Corporate Affairs & Communications Director. The primary focus is shaping the operating environment by facilitating the Corporate Affairs Strategy and planning process aligned with corporate strategy, coordinating involvement with stakeholders and managing processes with authorities regarding illicit trade.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the Corporate Affairs Strategy and planning process aligned with corporate strategy
  • Support external and internal communications programs related to corporate affairs, which consists of media relations, public relations, corporate reputation, issues management, crisis management to maintain and enhance corporate image across the country
  • Foster proper coordination of the Company's involvement with industry, local tobacco associations and government authorities on Corporate Affairs issues
  • Monitor political development to identify potential issues that could impact the Company's business, as well as trends on issues bound to affect the overall Company business
  • Manage communication and linked processes with authorities regarding illicit trade
  • Handle ad-hoc projects as and when required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • University degree (bachelor or higher) in Business Administration or equivalent with focus on Governance
  • 3 years’ work experience in a corporate affairs function

Skills, Competencies & Languages

  • Strong understanding of business needs, preferably in the tobacco industry
  • Sound knowledge of the legislative and regulatory affairs and bodies
  • Strategic and interdisciplinary thinking and acting
  • Self-driven, able to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills
  • Strong communication skills (excellent linguistic and rhetoric skills)
  • Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken
  • Good knowledge of MS Office
