The Head of Certification & Continued Airworthiness, or in GE terminology the Chief Consulting Engineer (CCE), demonstrates leadership for Airworthiness & Certification and Safety & Reliability for GE Aviation Turboprops business (GE Aviation Czech - GEAC).
The Head of Certification & Continued Airworthiness (Chief Consulting Engineer for Airworthiness & Certification) leads a team of engineers and support staff at the Prague, Czech Republic facility and reports to the Engineering Director and Head of Design, and dotted line to the global GE Aviation Chief Engineer. The CCE is the Head of Airworthiness in the Design Organization and has the competency to represent GE Aviation Czech during interface with EASA and other agencies concerning all matters related to airworthiness, product certification and protection of the environment.

  • Liaise between the design organization and the Agency with respect to all aspects of Type Investigation; define the certification basis and plan
  • Co-operate with the Agency in developing procedures used for the type certification process
  • Ensure the privileges of the Design Organization are carried out according to the defined procedures:
    • Release certification documents without verification by EASA
    • Classify modifications, repairs and manufacturing concessions of changes and repairs
    • Approve minor modifications, repairs and manufacturing concessions
    • Approve instructions for continued airworthiness (e.g. Service Bulletins)
  • Update and issue the Design Organization Handbook
  • Lead activities related to monitoring, reporting and investigating fleet incidents
  • Ensure compliance to GE Aviation Product Safety Policy
  • Manage the engine technical documentation required according to the ICA
  • Provide consulting service to program managers and other personnel
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for the GEAC Airworthiness and Certification, Safety, and Reliability teams
  • Grow and develop engineering talent to support future products
  • Provide leadership for unyielding compliance and integrity
  • Develop technical and management processes to improve both compliance and productivity
  • Bachelor's degree of Science in Engineering
  • At least 5 years’ experience in design or analysis of gas turbine engines
  • Additional 5 years of technical leadership experience in the area of Airworthiness and Certification under EASA Part 21
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Masters of Science in Engineering
  • 10 years of technical leadership experience in the area Airworthiness and Certification
  • Ability to lead multi-functional and multi-cultural teams
  • Ability to initiate total quality and change initiatives
