Job description
From consultancy and client selling to architecting and implementing a solution, a Security Specialist with IBM has a very diverse remit. This increased diversity brings with it greater challenges. As a Security Specialist you’ll be dealing with end-to-end security, an incredibly varied portfolio and delivering a holistic approach.

As a Security Specialist you will have a key role in our services team. You will be 55% dedicated to customer projects and 45% dedicated to support in solution sales of security related sales. You will also be advising and supporting the IBM sales team in understanding the customer needs and challenges.

As an integrated part of the job you will be working with various levels of technical and business stakeholders to architect highly technical designs and ensure their successful implementation. You will also be working on designs for policies, risk based assessments and governance, and you will be accountable for the success of security projects.

As our preferred candidate you are ambitious, enthusiastic and committed to delivering quality results to tight deadlines. You have as well developed approach to problem solving and decision making as well as good analytical and reasoning skills.

You will need to have a a proven record in the IT Industry with at least five years of experience in a number of areas of IT Security, as the role of Security Specialist calls for:
• identity and Access management competence
• design and implementation of Infrastructure/Network Security
• architecting secure solutions
• the ability to design security solutions
• experience of interacting and communicating effectively
• a good understanding of scoping and pricing security activities

In addition, you will also need to have experience with at least two of the following:
• identity and access management products
• experience of large and complex combined consulting and systems integration projects. Ideally across multiple implementations / systems or packages.
• ethical hacking
• implementing recognised standards (i.e. ISO 27001&2 , PCI-DSS)
• infrastructure components (including firewalls, switches and routers)

Experience with the following is preferred:
• host and network intrusion detection products and technologies
• penetration testing methods and technologies
• data encryption technologies and products
• financial systems / payment systems
• implementation of single sign-on.
