Position Description
Positions in this function review, analyzes, and modify programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale computer system. Evaluates system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. This function provides expertise in software systems programming, operating software applications, consults on complex projects/existing applications, and overall operating systems.

We are looking for a level 1 distributed computing system operator that does routine and repeatable tasks on a daily basis:

·         Batch alert monitoring
·         Processing via manual or automated schedule (daily checklist)
·         Escalating to support on incidents that cannot be resolved independently
·         Take corrective Restart/Rerun actions based on supports instructions
·         System console monitoring and escalation
·         Request fulfillment (ad-hoc)
·         Ability to work a queue based on request priority, moving more critical work to the top of the queue
·         Knowledge of incident management processes and tools (HPSM)
·         Understand the criticality of following the documented process
·         Skills – Automated Schedulers, FTP protocols, Unix/Wintel and networking skills
·         Good customer service and “can do” attitude
·         Ability to be flexible on shift work
Hours|:
7.00pm GMT – 7.30am GMT  (3 day week, followed by a 4 day week every 3rd week and then back to a 3 day week and so on).  Days of week : Thursday, Friday & Saturday and then the 4 day week would incorporate the Wednesday.
* The sucessful candidate would align with US Bank Holidays

Requirements

Essential Criteria:
·         School Leaving Certificate OR equivalent qualification
·         A  minimum of  2 years IT operating systems experience
·         Demonstrated knowledge of Incident Management Processes and tools (HPSM)
·         Demonstrated knowledge of Automated Schedulers, FTP protocols, Unix/Wintel and networking skills
·         Evidence of good customer service skills and “can do” attitude
·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
Assets:
·         Computer Science or IT related Degree preferable
