Assist regional finance & operating teams to improve/maintain controllership, accounting compliance and internal controls.
This position will support increasing growth for GE Water in Middle East Region and ensure strong Controllership and Compliance practices across the region.
  • Ensure compliance of financial accounting for all regional ledgers including shared legal entities.
  • Drive compliance with local laws & GE policies.
  • Provide technical accounting and financial reporting advice and support. Consult with Global HQ Controllership, Corporate Audit Staff, KPMG, TAX or Global Finance Operations where appropriate.
  • Support SOX and Internal Control Framework annual assessment and quarterly management letter preparation
  • Ensure timely & accurate closing for all regional ledgers.
  • Ensure business assets & General Ledger accounting activities have functional integrity & proper controls in respect of GE policies & Local GAAP.
  • Account reconciliations ownership & review for the region
  • Manage KPMG/GE Internal Audits & follow up on findings specifically ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in the audit process.
  • Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis teams to drive Legal Entity profitability.
  • Work closely with commercial and operations leaders and teams to understand financial and accounting implications of transactions and other matters as required.
  • Ensure the highest standards of controllership, accounting & compliance for all local reporting
  • Ensure filing of all annual statutory filings, stat to GAAP walks and stat to tax walks to be completed within GE corporate timelines
  • C.P.A / A.C.A. or equivalent.
  • 4 + years’ experience in general accounting, tax and/or audit
  • Corporate audit staff or public accounting experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Strong knowledge of technical accounting and controllership
  • Strong integrity
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem solving approach
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of GE Controllership framework.
  • Big Four experience preferred
  • Additional European or Middle East language knowledge
  • Experience working in multicultural and multilocational teams
