Position Description
The Detail Subledger (DSL) is targeted to become the central component of Morgan Stanley's firmwide books and records and control architecture. This is a multi-year, cross-functional program that will significantly advance the firm's capabilities in risk management, P&L and balance sheet substantiation, regulatory reporting, and many other areas. As part of this initiative, a global development team will be responsible for the design, development, and rollout of the strategic DSL platform. The primary business sponsors are Finance, Operations, and Risk, with significant stakes being held by the front office businesses.
The DSL will be developed using state-of-the-art technologies and software development techniques, and will support processing in excess of 200M events / day, covering all asset classes and trading desks in the firm. Operating on this scale will require extraordinary capabilities in terms of size, resiliency, flexibility, and performance. We are looking for senior, hands-on technical leads to be part of the core team responsible for the architecture and implementation of the DSL platform.
Skills Required
- Currently working as a technical team lead managing delivery for one or more projects
- Hands-on and highly technical with experience and proficiency in full SDLC
- Build, execute and manage technical project plans
- Running and participating in Agile scrums and directing agile team
- Performance management and mentorship of Budapest team
- Liaise with central PMO and technical leadership in the global team.
- Experience working on real-time, event-driven systems and service-oriented architectures
- Experience working on very large OLTP / reporting databases with real-time, performant read and write capabilities
- Experience with Agile development
- Experience with enterprise messaging systems, including message queues and pub/sub
- Experience defining and enforcing design and development standards
- Expert OO analysis and design skills
- Deep understanding of Java and the run time VM
- Working knowledge and experience with functional scripting languages
