The Product Domain Leader will be expected to champion a cohesive domain/product culture within the Subsea MCS domain, as part of the global Application Engineering organization. The position shall take full ownership of all associated activities outlined below, in doing so secure full and best in class delivery to this important function.
The Product Domain Leader should possess specialized skill sets in the subsea MCS system domain as a priority, but would be beneficial to have a good understanding of either one or more of Subsea Intervention Systems (Well and ROV), Subsea Control Systems, and Subsea Boosting / Processing Systems, Subsea Power / Distribution Systems. A strong commercial competence (Cost, Schedule, Resource & Risk) shall also be required for this key role
  • Direct reporting to systems engineering domain champion
  • Functional (dotted line) reporting manager for all domain engineers, multi-region
  • Global domain métier within AE
  • Domain specific engineering screening and selecting
  • Champion cohesive domain/product culture within global AE team
  • Product specific domain technical leadership
  • Domain specific engineering resource leveling within global AE team
  • Domain standards normalization across regions
  • Concept/ Design Review Signoff/ Validation across domain
  • Transitional responsibility/sign off ITO (Tender Phase) to OTR (Execution Phase) Handover
  • Provide technical support and input to Pre-FEED and FEED teams as required, and ensure FEED output translation into ITO process @ AE
  • Works closely with the subsea ITO and Sales organizations to ensure a strong product awareness and communication across regions, and act as PoC for VOC feedback loop.
  • Domain specific engineering interface to respective CoE/ Platform
  • Primary Technical PoC between CoE and AE/ FEED
  • Champion cross region product training, including development and maintenance of domain specific Training & Development/ competency matrix
  • Ability to travel to connect with team geographically located to meet business requirements.
  • Representation, report writing and presentation on subsea tree systems engineering as required
  • Contributes to engineering communications and team briefs on subsea tree systems engineering.
  • Product MGPP (product roadmap) ownership and communication across regions
  • Test, qualification, and reliability TRL matrix for domain (against key industry standards)
  • Ownership and maintenance of product domain specific Client Specifications/Standards repository
  • Domain PoC for Lessons learned (As bid/As built) feedback loop
  • Domain PoC for NPI feedback loop
  • Domain CoE CTR Champion.
  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject to this position.
  • Strong related experience, with preference to individuals with strong Manifold & Connection Systems (MCS) background
  • Confident in the areas of value definition of Subsea Production System architectures, and ability to articulate same into client value proposition.
  • Shall demonstrate a broad knowledge of workflows, processes, and procedures within engineering Strong technical problem solving
  • Resilient & Persistent Under All Circumstances
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • A member of a professional body e.g. I Mech Ideally a CEng
  • Strong skillset within areas of project scheduling and project risk definition & remediation.
