The Manager of Business Development (MBD) will be responsible for:

* The generation of new sales in the Middle Market Segment (equaling clients with travel spend up to 20M NOK). This is an individual contributor role.
* Providing integrated solutions both online and offline to help corporations manage and optimize their travel spend/investment; which is accomplished through process and purchase savings
* Building and maintaining relationships with key internal stakeholders along with building and developing client contacts to work and contribute in a team approach

Qualifications

* The candidate must have knowledge of or interest in technology solutions, knowledge of the corporate landscape and the ability to develop client specific based solutions

* Successful B2B sales experience

* Strong track record in B2B sales, driven to achieve targets

* Articulate, inspiring and confident via phone; extensive experience cold calling & prospecting is required

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Self starter and able to succeed in a virtual work environment

* A high level of business, finance and market acumen

* Can strategically plan to achieve both long and short term results

* Excellent project and time management skills

* Ability to interface at senior levels of the company, including in-person presentations and strong closing experience with C-level contacts

* Negotiation skills

* Presentation skills

* Experience working in a virtual office a plus Ability to manage and preferably experience in a matrix structure the implementation and hand over to internal relationship management teams

* Corporate Travel industry experience is a plus.

* This position will support the territory of Norway. The Candidate must reside in the Territory that is supported plus be fluent in English and one of the Scandinavian languages.

Key Deliverables:

*Prospection and development of assigned sector

*Research and preparation for discussion with prospects, with regard to their business and the American Express Business Travel service offering

*Development of client solution proposal in conjunction with internal support teams

*Determining key stakeholders and proactively building relationships

*Building and leveraging internal relationships to achieve outcomes

*Management of sales proposals and RFP documentation

*Technology demonstration skills around B2B applications

*Manage end to end process from prospecting to contract negotiations and implementations

*Build and maintain a comprehensive view of industry specifics, market dynamics and competitive positioning

*Plans and manages their time to ensure a consistent business pipeline to achieve targets

*Management of prospect relationship data into CRM systems.

* Experience from the marine, Off-shore or energy industry is a plus.
