Dimensions of the role
Financial Controlling Analyst reports to Financial Controlling Junior Manager but supports closely the Benelux Financial Controller and liaises with other internal and external stakeholders.

Top 3-5 accountabilities
Provide high quality financial support to Benelux Financial Controller and Commercial Finance Director;
Responsible for daily operational accounting and financial activities;
Coordinate and participate to the month-end close, reporting and reconciliation process. Ensure the completeness and the accuracy of financial records;
Responsible for compliances and stability of the internal processes
Creating high performance teams
Financial Control Activities, including:
Prepare quality reconciliations through deep understanding of the figures recorded, reported;
Calculate and post various adjustments to ensure the month-end results show the clear and fair picture;
Ensure smooth, timely and accurate month-end closes;
Ensure that the monthly management and financial reports are in accordance with the agreed group timetable and requirements;
Support for the country statutory, management account and tax agenda;
Coordinate the annual planning with the key in-market stakeholders, sense check and validate the bottom up results to the top down expectation;
Create and maintain high quality and effective internal control area.
To contribute ideas, energy, enthusiasm and support to the continuous improvement of the existing processes via simplification and standardisation
Decision support activities, including:
Seeking and passing judgment in coordination with the Benelux Financial Controller through value add analysis and thorough understanding of movements on accounts, the business reason behind those;
Active, pro-active management of financial figures;
Collection and presentation of Risks & Opportunities in a structured reporting format

Qualifications and experience required
Qualifications:
University / College degree in finance / business
Work experience:
Qualified accountant with minimum of 2-3 years’ work experience in a multinational corporate environment, preferably in FMCG sector, with exposure to some of the following areas:
Financial and Management Accounting, Controlling & Reporting processes
Accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, etc..)
Internal / external audit experience is an advantage
Experience with Shared services environment/processes
Process improvement
Business experience and understanding
Risk assessment
Senior stakeholder management
Language skills:
Fluency in English (verbal and written communication)
Other languages within geographical area is a bonus
PC skills/System knowledge:
MS applications
SAP; BFC
Advanced Excel knowledge
Functional Capabilities:
Developing/Mastery - Experience and high awareness of accounting policies and standards and how they can be established to optimize performance and control risk;
Developing/Mastery – Drives and shares best practice across the business. Continually works on standardising and implementing world class processes.
Mastery – Risk management and controls assurance;
Able to identify ways of treating specific risks and ensuring processes are in place to ensure risk is minimised and monitored
