The Senior Engineer FEED shall work with the rest of the system engineering team such that GE Oil & Gas solutions are competitive and preferred by the Client. This will include tender work to optimize the drilling, operation and maintenance programs to develop optimized field layouts and system solutions.
The incumbent shall optimize the selection of products and systems to minimize the impact on our supply chain and manufacturing process to enable profitable execution.
• Undertake assessment of future projects and the required facilities to determine deliverables in order to meet customer/market needs.
• Establish clear functional specifications for our Product Centers of Excellence to bid on at the Tender Phase.
• Ensure compliance with Company Policies and Procedures, maintain focus on Strategic Objectives
• Ensure that Subsea Project procedures and standards can and are being applied to minimize technical and commercial risk. Participate in Safety and Risk Committee Evaluations as required.
• Participate in HAZOP and SAFOP reviews and where necessary give leadership to the execution of these procedures.
• Minimize risk to the Health, Safety and Environmental impact as a result of the design, manufacture and operation of GE Oil & Gas equipment.
• Participate in failure and accident investigation to determine Root Causes. Disseminated conclusions and ensure they are implemented.
• Establish Project Specific Technical Verifications Plans
• Provide accurate and validated progress reports either directly or through direct reports as required by assigned tasks. The effectiveness should be measured through the Projects own KPI’s, e.g. project progress, cost, interface closeout, client handover / acceptance etc.
• Act as a mentor for younger staff as required : Monitoring, and counseling on their activities, ensure they understand regulatory requirements relative to designs, ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental risk control
• Provide / support training of staff based upon technical expertise.
• Executing Systems engineering to support projects.
• Be prepared to negotiate as required with Customers regarding variation orders to the Contract agreed scope.
• Promote and ensure compliance to company and regulatory EHS requirements & expectations at all time
• Promote and ensure compliance to company and regulatory Quality management systems at all time
• Degree in Engineering/Technical Institute or extensive experience in lieu.
• Min. 5-10 years of experience within subsea engineering
• Strong systems and FEED engineering skills based upon previous experience of studies and systems engineering within subsea projects.
• Detailed understanding of subsea product design basis, verification methods, tender work and OTR execution projects, and general product knowledge gained through significant number of years of industrial experience.
• Capabilities to support Risk Assessment, HAZOP and Interface Engineering within the boundaries of product standards.
• Knowledge and understanding of other related systems engineering skills, such as Factory Acceptance Procedures, Safety and Environmental Controls.
• Good presentation, oral and written skills to enable clear and concise delivery of information to staff, customers, contractors and supervisors.
• Ability to demonstrate and argue the technical case for or against products/ systems as necessary to minimize technical and commercial risk within the company’s strategic objectives.
• Demonstrate a readiness to make decisions, take the initiative and originate action.
• Have a clear understanding of his/her objectives relative to the project requirements and to facilitate delivery of those objectives as planned.
• Demonstrate good team working abilities and able to arrange and manage events which involve various teams, including staff reporting directly.
• Provide leadership and manage interfaces as required to deliver objectives.
• Maintain customer focus, both internal and external. Good customer relationships are to be maintained to help generate a sense of belonging for internal customers and project the company as being customer sensitive for external customers.
• Estimate and monitor cost and timelines, particularly relating to critical path activities and third parties. Must be accountable for performance.
• Understands and applies commercial and financial principles. Views issues in terms of costs, profits, and added value
• Successfully adapts to changing demands and conditions
• Analyses issues and breaks them down into their components parts. Makes systematic and rational judgments based on relevant information.
• Master English, both written and verbally
• PC Literate: MS office.
• PC Literate: AutoCad, ProEngineer, SAP, ePIMS, ePIC, MS Visio, MS Project
• Master Norwegian, both written and verbally
